Ledger Watch tracks current events in money, AI and ledger technology. Facts come from the cited outlets; each “Ledger echo” is the chronicle’s reading of the news, not a statement of fact. Not financial advice.
Today's AI and money stories, checked against reputable reporting. The links to the book point out where its themes echo the news. They are the chronicle's reading of events and are not claims of fact.
AI & Banking
Four Wall Street firms build a $63 billion vehicle to buy AI chips for Anthropic
What happenedBank of America, Citi, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone announced a $63 billion financing through a newly formed special purpose vehicle. The vehicle will buy Broadcom AI accelerators and networking gear and lease them to Anthropic, with deliveries expected to start in 2027. The three banks are arranging the first-lien debt, Blackstone is the sole committed provider of the second-lien debt, and Broadcom is backing the first-lien amount with residual value support.
Ripple & XRPL
Aviva Investors puts a share class of its largest fund on the XRP Ledger
What happenedAviva Investors and Ripple launched a tokenised share class of the Aviva Investors Sterling Liquidity Fund, a money market fund of about £22 billion and the firm's largest. Aviva put £50 million of its own money into the new class, bringing its two tokenised share classes (this one and a dollar fund launched in July) to more than £86 million. The fund itself stays off-chain under a "digital twin" model, with BNY Mellon as custodian, and only eligible investors with approved wallets can hold it.
NoteThe £22 billion is the whole fund. Only the tokenised class (£86 million across both funds) is on the ledger, and it is not a purchase of XRP.
✦ Ledger echoThe chronicle would read this as an old-world fund stepping onto the bridge ledger while keeping its feet in the old structure. See

Ripple Treasury adds AI-run workflows and around-the-clock returns on corporate cash
What happenedOn the eve of its Swell conference in New York, Ripple announced new Ripple Treasury features: an orchestration layer that works with its GSmart AI to automate cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity and payments, and "24/7 Returns," which lets eligible corporate customers earn returns on qualifying digital assets, including its RLUSD stablecoin, outside banking hours. Ripple names American Airlines, Subway, Christian Louboutin, Adecco and Kingfisher among Ripple Treasury customers, and says humans still approve every financial action GSmart proposes.
NoteReturns depend on meeting program requirements; Ripple has not published rates.
✦ Ledger echoThe chronicle argues that money will come to run on rules that execute themselves, at any hour, with people setting the policy rather than pushing each payment. See

Market Infrastructure / DTCC
DTCC says the move to next-day settlement freed nearly $3 billion
What happenedIn an interview with FOW, DTCC's global head of equities solutions, Val Wotton, said the U.S. shift to T+1 settlement let DTCC cut clearing-fund requirements by about $12.8 billion and release close to $3 billion in liquidity. He warned European firms that the UK and EU move to T+1 in October 2027 will shorten the time to meet margin calls, and said asset managers are exploring tokenised funds holding tokenised assets to get past settlement-window limits. This follows DTCC's tokenization service launch covered October 22.

Cloudman176 counts 42 stations from Egypt to the Jordan
What happenedThe riddler-style account @Cloudman176 posted that Numbers 33 lists Israel's journeys in 42 camps, tied it to the "42-letter name" of God (Talmud, Kiddushin 71a) and the prayer Ana Bekoach (7 lines of 6 words), and opened with the first steam railway timetable, the Liverpool and Manchester line of September 15, 1830. We checked: the Hebrew "and they camped" (ויחנו) appears exactly 42 times in Numbers 33:5–49; the 42nd letter of Genesis 1:1–2 is the ב of בהו ("void"); the railway did open that day, and William Huskisson was fatally struck by the Rocket. Mercury is retrograde until November 13. A second post says נשמה (neshamah, soul) and השמים (ha-shamayim, the heavens) both total 395, which is correct, citing Genesis 2:7 and Proverbs 20:27 accurately.
NoteSeen on X, not news. The counts, citations and dates check out; the meaning is the account's own reading. The account also shared it in replies to posts showing XRP ads at New York's 42nd Street station.
